It was quite hot today. During lunch, we went down to the beach.

Alki Beach (Seattle, WA)

Does anyone know what these things are called? They were sticking up out of the sand all over. The (3) pictures are pretty bad, they looked like long worms or worm-like plants, or something.
When we got back to the office I didn’t get any work done. I can’t say I am suprised.

That little fella is called Sid. The other one you stood on was his wife Sherly, but she said she was ok and that you shouldn’t worry.
:-)
Nice photo’s. Any beach day is a good day :-)

“Seattle Sizzles, But Doesn’t Fry” is probably the cheesiest headline I’ve heard recently.
I agree, however, that any beach day is a good day. Well said.
Try digging, I think you will find clams. Then put them back, you are not allowed to take them, clamming is restricted in time and place along the beaches of Puget Sound.
Some of those “worms” get big and old. Geoducks get to be over a foot long and are estimated to live more than 100 years. Mmm, sushi!
