Amazon.com + A9 Discount

So I finally decided to make use of this $50 gift certificate for amazon.com I got, and picked two things to order. The total ended up being $0.42 thanks to a suprise $0.80 discount I got for searching A9.com one time.

Mozilla/Firefox sudo warning

Never run a mozilla browser using sudo, there is a bug that will indefinitely delete your bookmarks file (and possibly other files as well).
Hopefully this will be fixed before Firefox 1.0.

GNOME File Assoceations

I was having a problem with gnome not letting me change the assoceated application for a filetype with the “Open With” tab in nautilus.
I found out from someone in #gnome that GNOME (which is using the very poorly documented Freedesktop.org shared mime spec) stores this information in ~/.local/share/applications/mimeinfo.cache. The directory this file is in also [...]
